Roxbury Melodies selected to perform at ACDA Eastern Division Conference

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Roxbury Melodies was selected to perform at the 2024 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Region Conference.

They were one of only fifteen choirs chosen based on three years of recordings that passed two rounds of blind auditions. Melodies will serve as a model of high school treble choirs for music educators all across the northeastern portion of the country.

The Eastern Region chapter of ACDA includes 11 states (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont) as well as Washington D.C.

The students will perform on Thursday, Feb. 29 at the Grace Episcopal Church in Providence, Rhode Island.

Their program will open with an arrangement of the Pakpaknese folk song Cikala le Pong Pong by Ken Steven followed by truth by Andrea Ramsey. The choir will continue with Panta Rhei by Jim Papoulis and Francisco J. Núñez and move into a mini set of Does the World Say? by Kyle Pederson and Libby Larsen’s Look! Be: leap;. Melodies will finish with an arrangement of the spiritual I’m On My Way by Anthony Trecek-King.
