Suspect wanted for attempted burglary in Morris County arrested
CHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) — A suspect wanted for attempted burglary in Morris County has been arrest, according to police.
On Feb. 26, at around 12:30 a.m., two individuals scaled a perimeter fence around a residence on Ashland Terrace in Chester Township. Once on the property, they attempted to enter a garage, but the door was locked, police said.
With assistance from local and federal law enforcement agencies, officers identified one of the suspects using video footage captured by residential security cameras.
An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, charging the individual—whose identity has not been released—with third-degree criminal attempt for burglary, second-degree criminal attempt for theft of a motor vehicle valued over $75,000, third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, second-degree conspiracy to commit theft of a motor vehicle valued over $75,000, and possession of burglary tools.
On Oct. 25, authorities confirmed that the subject of the arrest warrant had been located and taken into custody in Hudson County. The individual is currently being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on the Chester Township warrant, as well as additional warrants issued by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office, and Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office for similar offenses, police said
