Sussex County Community College signs transfer agreement with William Paterson University

NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Sussex County Community College has entered into a new articulation agreement with William Paterson University aimed at expanding transfer opportunities for students.

The agreement, signed April 8, establishes transfer pathways across more than 35 academic programs and is designed to help students move seamlessly from a two-year degree to a bachelor’s program.

College officials said the partnership will simplify the transfer process by ensuring credits earned at Sussex County Community College apply directly toward degree programs at William Paterson. The agreement also aligns curriculum and advising practices to improve accessibility and affordability.

“This agreement represents a significant step forward in our commitment to student success,” said Cory Homer, President of Sussex County Community College. “By creating clear, streamlined pathways to William Paterson University, we are making it easier than ever for our students to transfer, stay on track, and complete their degrees in a timely and affordable manner. We are especially grateful to Dr. Nancy Gallo, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, for her leadership and collaboration in bringing this partnership to fruition.”

Students in a variety of fields — including business, education, criminal justice, liberal arts and STEM — will have access to guaranteed transfer options and coordinated academic advising under the agreement.

“This partnership reflects our shared dedication to expanding educational access and supporting student achievement,” Dr. Homer added, “Together, we are creating meaningful opportunities that empower students to reach their academic and professional goals.”

Officials said the agreement is part of ongoing efforts to improve educational pathways and support student success.
