FRANKLIN BOROUGH, N.J. (Sussex County) – A Fredon Township man is facing multiple drug-related charges after officers allegedly found him in a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway in Franklin Borough in May, according to a July 23 news release from the Franklin Borough Police Department.
On the evening of May 21, officers responded to John Wilton Street after a resident reported a man appearing to be asleep inside a vehicle blocking the roadway.
Police said the driver, identified as Dimitrios Protogeropoulos, 29, was believed to be under the influence of suspected heroin. He was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment, and his vehicle was seized.
Following the execution of a search warrant, authorities charged Protogeropoulos with possession of a Schedule I-IV controlled dangerous substance, use or being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued multiple motor vehicle summonses.
Protogeropoulos was released pending a court appearance in Sussex County Superior Court under the state’s bail reform guidelines.
