RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Firefighters from Randolph and several neighboring communities responded to a three-alarm fire Saturday afternoon that damaged the attic of a townhouse building, officials said.
The Randolph Township Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 3:45 p.m. to 105 Crescent Circle after receiving a report of an activated fire alarm with smoke.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire in the attic space above Unit 105. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and were able to confine the fire to the attic space above the original fire area, according to the department.
Due to weather conditions and the attached design of the townhouse building, the incident was upgraded to a third alarm, bringing additional resources from the Roxbury, Netcong, Picatinny Arsenal, Chester and Mendham Township fire departments, along with the Morris County Office of Emergency Management and the Randolph Rescue Squad.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
