Three charged after trespassing at Black River Middle School, police say

CHESTER, N.J. (Morris County) — Three young adult men were taken into custody Wednesday evening after police said they entered Black River Middle School after hours.

According to Chief of Police Ryan T. McNamee, officers were alerted to the unauthorized entry and responded to the school, where the individuals had already left the property. With assistance from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office canine and drone units, the suspects were located and apprehended.

Each was charged with criminal trespass and released pending court appearances in Morris County Superior Court, McNamee said.

Specialized canine units later conducted a thorough search of the building and found nothing of concern, police said.

“There is no threat related to this incident, and the safety of our children and their learning environment remains this agency’s highest priority,” McNamee said.
