Two Raritan Valley Community College students named to 2025 N.J. all-state academic team
BRANCHBURG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — Two students from Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC)—Jonathan Avelar Flores of Phillipsburg and Amodh Naik of Bridgewater—have been named to the 2025 New Jersey All-State Academic Team, the New Jersey Council of County Colleges (NJCCC) announced.
The pair joins a group of 35 students from across the state’s 18 community colleges who are being recognized for outstanding academic performance, leadership, and community involvement.
All honorees are members of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for community college students, and were nominated by college leaders for their achievements on campus and beyond.
In addition to being named to the academic team, Naik was awarded a Coca-Cola Gold Scholarship, a prestigious national honor presented by the Coca-Cola Foundation in partnership with Phi Theta Kappa. He is one of six New Jersey community college students to receive the competitive scholarship, which recognizes excellence in academics, leadership, and service.
Students selected for the 2025 All-State Academic Team represent a wide range of fields, including pre-medicine, business administration, education, engineering, healthcare, liberal arts, physics, psychology, and the sciences. Some plan to transfer to four-year institutions, while others will enter the workforce directly after graduation.
