Pedestrian struck by vehicle; car stops with woman underneath in Morris County parking lot

DENVILLE TOWSNHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the Acme parking lot in Denville Township Sunday morning, with the car coming to a stop after driving over the woman and leaving her underneath the vehicle, Denville Township Police Captain Scott Welsch told RNJ.

According to Welsch, the incident occurred when the vehicle was pulling out of a parking spot. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and continued moving, ultimately stopping with the woman underneath.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment, Welsch said.

The incident remains under investigation. No further information has been released.
