USPS announces recommended holiday mailing, shipping dates for 2025 season

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday released its recommended mailing and shipping deadlines for the 2025 holiday season to help customers ensure delivery before Christmas.

For the contiguous United States, the Postal Service recommends the following send-by dates: Dec. 17 for USPS Ground Advantage service and First-Class Mail, Dec. 18 for Priority Mail, and Dec. 20 for Priority Mail Express.

For customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories, recommended send-by dates are Dec. 16 for USPS Ground Advantage service, Dec. 17 for First-Class Mail, Dec. 18 for Priority Mail, and Dec. 20 for Priority Mail Express.

The Postal Service said customers mailing packages to international or military addresses should check the complete list of recommended deadlines available on the USPS holiday shipping page.

Officials advised customers to plan early. “During the holiday season, customers should always plan to mail and ship packages early to ensure arrival by Dec. 25,” the Postal Service said.
