Warren County Commissioners cut ribbon for the completion of Bread Lock Park barn restoration project

STEWARTSVILLE, NJ (Warren County) – Commissioner Director James R. Kern III and Commissioner Lori Ciesla were at Bread Lock Park on Saturday, July 13 to celebrate Warren County’s Bicentennial with live music and cut the ribbon for the completion of the Bread Lock Park barn restoration project.

While the barn itself was not associated with the Morris Canal operation, it nevertheless contributes to the historic character of the park, which is a premiere site along the historic Morris Canal Greenway.

Based on the architectural fabric of the building, the barn was constructed in the very late 19th or early 20th century. As such, the county has taken care to restore the barn over the past two decades with a sensitivity to its historical character, including a new roof, structural stabilization, and most recently replacement of the barn’s siding.
