Warren County officials issue alert amid rise in vehicle thefts

WARREN COUNTY, N.J. — Authorities in Warren County are urging residents to take precautions amid a rise in vehicle thefts reported across the region.

In a public safety alert issued by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office in coordination with the Warren County Police Chief’s Association, officials stressed the importance of basic vehicle security steps, reminding drivers to lock their cars, take their keys, and remove valuables from sight.

“Take it. Hide it. Lock it.” is the campaign’s message to help residents avoid becoming targets of theft. Police are urging drivers never to leave key fobs inside or near the vehicle, even for a short period of time, and to always remove purses, electronics, and bags from view.

Authorities also emphasized the importance of vigilance. Anyone who sees suspicious activity is encouraged to report it immediately by calling 911.
