Warren County to mark bicentennial with June 28 celebration, fireworks

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Warren County will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a full day of music, food and family fun on June 28, capped by a fireworks display at dusk.

The bicentennial event will take place from noon to 9 p.m. on the grounds of Warren County Community College, 475 Route 57 West, Washington. Admission, parking, rides and games are free. A rain date is set for June 29.

The celebration will feature local bands on two stages, including performances by Maribyrd & the Wooden Nickel Band, Roulette the Band, Toga Party Band, We May Be Right — a Billy Joel tribute — and the Bobby Clark Band. Other acts include the Pocono Dulcimer Club, Exit 12 Ramblers, Jesse Bardwell & the Noble Brothers, The Three Lelicas and Water Street.

Visitors can enjoy craft vendors, food trucks, local exhibitors and Warren County beers and wines. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m.

The event is presented by the Warren County Board of County Commissioners and the Bicentennial Cultural & Heritage Advisory Board, with support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and other partners.
