Washington Township police in Warren County urge residents to lock vehicles amid uptick in thefts

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The Washington Township Police Department is alerting residents and community members about a recent spike in vehicle thefts across the area.

Along with several neighboring jurisdictions, local authorities have noted an uptick in stolen vehicles and are urging everyone to take precautions.

“We implore you to lock your vehicle doors and always take your key fobs inside with you. Do not leave your key fobs in the car,” the police department stated in a Facebook post.

Detectives from multiple jurisdictions are currently working together on a multi-jurisdictional investigation targeting the suspects involved in these thefts.

Authorities are also asking residents to check any video surveillance footage they may have, particularly if a vehicle theft occurred near their homes.
