Woman, 61, seriously injured when her cars rolls over her in Hackettstown
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A 61-year-old woman was seriously injured Monday evening when she was run over by her own car in Hackettstown, according to police.
On May 1, at 7:28 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Helms Mill Road and Dalton Road for a report of a struck pedestrian, police said.
Through a police investigation, it was determined that the Hackettstown woman was getting out her 2014 Lincoln when she didn’t realize her vehicle was not in park. As she attempted to stop the vehicle from rolling, she fell out of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled over the left side of her body, police said.
The vehicle continued to roll and then struck a 2016 Ford which was parked alongside Helms Mill Road, police siad.
The female suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Independence Township First Aid Squad to Morristown Medical Center, police said.
She was issued a summons for having an unregistered vehicle, police said.
