1 flown to hospital after crash on I-80 in Morris County

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – One person was flown to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 80 in Morris County Thursday, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Troy McNair.

The crash happened at around 7:34 p.m. on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 29.6 in Roxbury Township, McNair said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford passenger vehicle, driven by Evan Fischer, 27, of Rockaway, and Dodge pickup truck were traveling westbound when the Ford collided with the rear of the Dodge, ran off the roadway to the left, struck the guardrail, and subsequently overturned, McNair said.

As a result of the crash, Fischer suffered serious injuries and was flown to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported, McNair said.

The accident remains under investigation and no additional information was available, McNair said.
