2 injured after dump truck overturns on car on I-80 in Morris County

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two people were injured after a dump truck overturned onto a vehicle on Interstate 80 in Morris County Friday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Troy McNair.

The crash happened at around 9:20 a.m. on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 36.6 in Rockaway Township, McNair said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Peterbilt dump truck was traveling westbound on I-80 when the driver lost directional control and subsequently overturned onto an Infiniti passenger vehicle, McNair said.

The driver and passenger of the Infiniti suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, McNair said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, McNair said.
