2 injured in fiery multi-car, motorcycle crash on I-78 in Hunterdon County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Two people were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and five cars on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County on Saturday, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 5;02 p.m. on Interstate 78 westbound at milepost 19 in Clinton Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a collision occurred between five passenger vehicles and a motorcycle. During the collision a Subaru caught on fire, and the motorcyclist was ejected, Lebron said.

The motorcyclist suffered minor non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital. The driver of the Subaru suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

There were no other injuries reported, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
