2 men arrested after dispute involving knife, broom handle in Hackettstown
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Two men face charges following a dispute that involved a knife and a broom handle in Hackettstown, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
On March 18, Hackettstown police responded to 115 Main Street after reports of a stabbing, officials said.
On scene, police discovered Santiago X. Saqui of Hackettstown and Luis Marraquin of Hackettstown were involved in a verbal domestic dispute and both had minor injuries, authorities said.
During that dispute, Marraquin was allegedly in possession of a knife that was used in a threatening manner towards Saqui. After they were separated, Saqui returned and allegedly assaulted Marroquin utilizing a broom handle, the prosecutor’s office said.
Marroquin was charged with third-degree possession of a weapon (knife) for an unlawful purpose, and harassment.
Saqui was charged with third-degree possession of a Weapon (broom handle) for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree aggravated assault.
