3 seriously injured, 1 flown to hospital following crash on Route 513 in Hunterdon County

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Three people were seriously injured, including one person who was flown to the hospital after a crash in Hunterdon County on Saturday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Troy McNair.

The crash happened at around 8:54 p.m. on County Route 513 in Alexandria Township, McNair said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Nissan passenger vehicle, driven by Theodore Martin, 18, of Glen Rock, was traveling on Whitehead Road approaching County Route 513, and a Jeep SUV, driven by Leandro Rivera, 49, of Frenchtown, was traveling southbound on County Route 513 approaching Whitehead Road, McNair said.

Martin attempted to make a left onto County Route 513 and collided with the Jeep, causing the Jeep to subsequently collide with a fence, McNair said.

As a result of the crash, Rivera and suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Martin suffered serious injuries and was flown to an area hospital and his passenger, David Leone, 20, of Pittstown, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, McNair said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, McNair said.
