4 injured, 2 seriously, in head-on collision in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Four people were injured — including two who suffered serious injuries — after a head-on collision in Sussex County Saturday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 11:51 a.m. on County Route 521 northbound at milepost 26.2, Frankford Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Honda CRV, driven by Victor Rosa, 75, of Newark, was traveling northbound on County Route 521 and a Honda Civic, driven by Matthew Budd, 22, of Dingmans Ferry, PA, was traveling southbound when the Civic crossed the centered double yellow line and entered the northbound lane of travel and hit the CRV head-on, Marchan said.

Rosa and his passenger, Christian Cordero, 37, of Newark, suffered moderate injuries, Marchan said.

Budd and his passenger, Stevielee Lacika, 19, of Newton, suffered serious injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional was information available, Marchan said.
