UPDATE: Body of missing paddleboarder recovered from Sussex County lake, state police say

SANDYSTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Authorities have recovered the body of a paddleboarder who went missing Friday evening at Kittatinny Lake after falling off his board and never resurfacing.

Troopers responded at 6:44 pm to East Shore Trail in Sandyston Township for a missing person, state police  said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a man had fallen into the water while on a stand-up paddle board and did not reemerge, state police said.

James Lee, 61, of Sandyston Township was recovered Sunday morning deceased, state police said.

This remains an active investigation and no additional information was available, state police said.
