Pohatcong Township Police Chief Scott D. Robb announces retirement after 25 years of service

POHATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – After a distinguished 25-year career in public safety, Pohatcong Township Police Chief Scott D. Robb has announced his retirement, effective January 31, 2025.

In a statement, Chief Robb expressed his deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve his community. “It has been an absolute honor and privilege to serve this great township as your Police Chief,” Robb said. “After 25 years in public safety, my journey in this honorable profession is coming to an end. This decision did not come lightly and required many conversations with my family along with prayer and reflection.”

Robb’s career began as a patrol officer, where he quickly made a name for himself with his dedication and commitment to the community. Throughout his career, he held various roles, including criminal investigator and front-line supervisor, eventually rising to the position of Police Chief in December 2017. Under his leadership, the Pohatcong Township Police Department became one of the most professional and transparent law enforcement agencies in the county and state.

“Leading and shaping the Pohatcong Township Police Department into a professional and progressive law enforcement agency was only possible because of the efforts of all,” Robb reflected. “Leadership is about empowering and supporting others to succeed. That positive leadership has led to an impressive staff that is ready to take over in my retirement.”

Robb expressed his pride in the achievements of his department and his confidence in the team’s future success. “I have great comfort in knowing that we succeeded in preparing the next group of leaders for the Pohatcong Township Police Department,” he said.

Throughout his career, Robb emphasized the importance of family support. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by his wife, Kristina, and their four children, Devery, Trinity, Tenley, and Brody, and thanked them for their unwavering love and understanding throughout his career.

“As many of you know, my passion has always been serving and protecting others,” Robb continued. “I reflect now on my career and realize that now is the right time to step away. My biggest reflection is knowing I could not have been as successful in my career if it was not for my loving family.”

As Chief Robb moves on to the next chapter of his life, he expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Pohatcong community. “I want to personally thank all of the amazing law enforcement officers, professionals, businesses, and our citizens who I have worked with over the past 25 years,” he said. “Please know that not a day went by that I hoped I did not let any of you down. I will forever be grateful.”

“My heart and desire for continued success will always be with you, our police and this great Township of Pohatcong,” Robb said.
