Warren County man charged after police find defaced firearm, high-capacity magazines
LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A Warren County man is facing charges after police recovered an illegal defaced firearm, high-capacity magazines and hollow point bullets from his residence last month in Lopatcong Township, authorities said.
Police responded to 225 Red School Lane around 10:59 a.m. on May 21, where they allegedly found a firearm with defaced serial numbers — a violation of New Jersey law — along with several high-capacity magazines and hollow point bullets, authorities said. The suspect was only identified as Diarte-Parra of Lopatcong Township.
Diarte-Parra was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with possession of a defaced firearm, possession of high-capacity ammunition magazines, and possession of hollow point bullets, all fourth-degree offenses.
He was released on his own recognizance pending a future date in Warren County Superior Court.
