Homeless woman charged in Morris County burglary, attempted vehicle theft

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 33-year-old homeless woman has been charged with burglary and attempted motor vehicle theft after police say she tried to steal a vehicle in Denville Township.

Officers responded to 279 East Main Street on Aug. 10 for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle in progress, according to police. While en route, police were told the suspect was fleeing the area.

The woman, identified as Johanna Posada-Ramirez, was found at the Denville Train Station, where officers conducted a brief investigation. Police determined she had burglarized a vehicle and attempted to steal it.

Posada-Ramirez was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to steal a motor vehicle and burglary before being transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a future court appearance.
