All New Jersey MVC facilities to close Monday for Columbus Day

NEW JERSEY — The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) announced that all of its facilities — including agencies, road test sites, and inspection stations — will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, in observance of Columbus Day.

The MVC said regular operations will continue for the rest of the week, including on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Customers can still access more than 25 online services at any time by visiting NJMVC.gov, where they can book appointments, renew documents, and find motor vehicle information without visiting an office.

According to the Commission, while most transactions can be completed online, nearly all in-person services — such as driver testing, permit issuance, REAL ID applications, new titles, and vehicle registrations — require an appointment scheduled in advance through the MVC website.
