Blairstown Township officers use tourniquet to save man after knife accident
BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Two Blairstown Township police officers are being credited with saving a man’s life after he suffered a severe arm injury from a hunting knife accident earlier this week, authorities said.
According to police, on Oct. 22, Sergeant Bee and Officer Lisboa responded to a residence on Walnut Valley Road for a report of a man who had accidentally cut his arm while using a hunting knife to open boxes.
When officers arrived, they found the man had experienced significant blood loss and was still actively bleeding. The officers immediately applied a tourniquet, successfully stopping the bleeding before emergency medical personnel arrived.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff credited the officers’ quick action with saving his life.
