Morris County correctional police Capt. Jay C. Milos retires after 30 years of service
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Morris County correctional police Capt. Jay C. Milos has retired after 30 years of service, concluding a career marked by leadership, dedication and professionalism, officials said.
Captain Milos began his career Feb. 19, 1996, working at the former Morris County Correctional Facility on Court Street in Morristown. Over the years, he advanced steadily through the ranks, ultimately serving as support services captain.
Throughout his tenure, Captain Milos worked in critical operational areas, including the Intake and Records units, and played a key leadership role within the Security Division. Officials said his work helped ensure the safety and security of the facility while maintaining high professional standards.
Colleagues described Captain Milos as having a tireless work ethic, noting that he consistently placed the needs of the correctional facility and its staff first. His leadership style was described as staff-focused, emphasizing the importance of providing officers with the tools and support needed to perform their duties effectively.
Captain Milos’ retirement marks the end of three decades of service to Morris County. Officials said his legacy of professionalism, dedication and integrity will continue to influence the department and inspire future generations of correctional officers.
