Warren County marks Career and Technical Education Month with tour of Warren Tech

FRNAKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) — Warren County officials are recognizing Career and Technical Education Month with a visit to Warren County Technical School, highlighting programs designed to prepare students for skilled trades and industry careers.

On Feb. 24, Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla toured several of the school’s career shops to observe students at work in disciplines including construction, cosmetology, culinary arts and welding.

“I thoroughly enjoyed seeing our students hard at work in their different disciplines. As we wonder how artificial intelligence will impact the future of many jobs, our students are hard at work preparing for careers that will withstand the onslaught of AI,” Ciesla said. She continued, “I was impressed by both the students and faculty; whether it’s construction, cosmetology, culinary, or any of the careers, the passion for the work being done could be felt from teachers and students alike. I want to thank Superintendent Forsythe and student government co-presidents Cece and Jason for a great tour and all the teachers for giving me the opportunity to learn about their program.”

As part of the celebration, Ciesla presented a proclamation from the Warren County Board of County Commissioners to Chad Feilbach, Warren County Technical School’s Teacher of the Year.

Feilbach, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who holds a bachelor’s degree in welding technology and a master’s degree in education, teaches welding at the school. Officials said students in the program receive hands-on training and industry-relevant skills designed to prepare them for careers in the field.

Career and Technical Education Month is observed nationwide each February to raise awareness of the value of technical and vocational programs.
