Death investigation underway after body found on Patriots Path in Morris County

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Authorities are investigating a death after a body was found Wednesday afternoon along Patriots Path in Morristown, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Morristown police and emergency medical personnel responded around 3 p.m. to the area of Patriots Path across from Coal Avenue for a report of an unresponsive person.

The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released the person’s identity.

The investigation is being conducted by the Morristown Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office and the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Authorities said there is no danger to the public. No further information was released.
