Warren County recognizes Corrections Officers and Employees Week
WARREN COUNTY, N.J. — The Warren County Board of County Commissioners has designated May 3-9 as Corrections Officers and Employees Week, honoring the men and women who work at the county’s correctional facility.
Corrections Officers and Employees Week was established in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan as a national observance to recognize the difficult and often dangerous work of corrections personnel responsible for the custody, safety and well-being of inmates.
County commissioners recently issued a proclamation and presented it to several employees of the Warren County Correctional Center.
“This proclamation is to recognize and honor all the men and women who work at the Warren County Correctional Facility. Their professionalism, bravery, and attention to detail play a huge part in keeping our County and citizens safe,” Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla said, adding, “It’s a difficult job and it takes a lot of courage to do it, we are very thankful for their service to our county.”
Officials said corrections officers play a vital role in maintaining security within the facility while helping protect the broader community.
