Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula sold at Target recalled over possible botulism risk
Nara Organics is voluntarily recalling all lots of its Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula due to the potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall affects Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula in 700-gram cans (UPC 860013251901) and 400-gram cans (UPC 860013251918) that were distributed nationwide through Target stores, Target.com and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026.
According to the FDA, the agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notified Nara Organics on June 12 about three cases of infant botulism involving infants who reportedly consumed the formula. The infants were hospitalized and treated with BabyBIG, a botulism immune globulin therapy, in California, Washington and Pennsylvania. No deaths have been reported.
Although Nara said its formula has not tested positive for Clostridium botulinum, the company is recalling all products currently on the market out of an abundance of caution.

Infant botulism is a rare but potentially fatal illness that occurs when Clostridium botulinum spores grow in an infant’s intestinal tract and produce toxins. Symptoms may include constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelids, sluggish pupils, weak crying, difficulty swallowing, muscle weakness and breathing problems.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled formula immediately. Parents and caregivers whose infants have consumed the product and are showing symptoms, including vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelids or weak crying, should seek immediate medical attention.
Nara Organics said customers who purchased formula through its website during May and June 2026 will automatically receive refunds. Customers with unused product may also request a refund through the company. Target customers may return the recalled formula to Target stores or follow the retailer’s online return procedures.
