Crews extinguish 2-alarm fire in Morris County
MOUNT ARLINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — Firefighters from Mount Arlington and several mutual aid departments battled a residential fire Tuesday evening that spread throughout a three-and-a-half-story home on Howard Boulevard in Mount Arlington Borough.
The Mount Arlington Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 6:15 p.m. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, fire officials found heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the wood-frame residence and immediately requested a second alarm.
Officials confirmed all occupants had safely evacuated the home before firefighters entered the structure.
Firefighters arriving on scene quickly deployed hose lines to attack the blaze from the rear of the residence, while Mount Arlington crews stretched additional lines and entered through the front of the home to continue fire suppression efforts.
Mutual aid companies worked alongside Mount Arlington firefighters to contain and extinguish the fire as it spread through multiple areas of the residence.
The bulk of the fire was brought under control by approximately 7:20 p.m., according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported, and officials had not released details about the cause of the fire.
