Mount Olive announces 2026 road resurfacing program
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Mount Olive Township has announced the start of its 2026 Road Resurfacing Program, a major infrastructure project aimed at improving roadway conditions, enhancing safety and extending the life of township roads.
Milling operations are expected to begin on or around June 22, with paving scheduled to start on or around June 30, weather permitting. Township officials said schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
The resurfacing program includes Delbar Drive, Pershing Avenue, Summit Avenue, Carson Road, Stanley Place, Washington Street, Sunset Drive, Connelly Avenue, Crestwood Circle, Rolling Hills Drive, Tall Oaks Lane, Tanglewood Way, Starr Street, Corey Road, Schoolhouse Lane, Patlyn Road, Joycinda Road, Snead Court, Trevino Road, Hogan Court, Palmer Court and Watson Way.
A portion of Crenshaw Drive is also included in the project.
Kennedy Drive, Glenside Drive and a portion of Sand Shore Road will be paved in a second phase after a water main extension project is completed.
Township officials said this year’s program represents one of the largest annual roadway investments in Mount Olive’s history. The township increased its annual road resurfacing budget to $2 million, about double the funding level of previous years.
During milling and paving operations, on-street parking will be prohibited on affected roads, and vehicle access may be temporarily limited or delayed. Residents living on project streets are encouraged to plan ahead and make alternate parking arrangements when necessary.
Residents are asked to remove vehicles from the roadway during posted construction periods, follow temporary traffic control signs and directions from construction crews, anticipate delays and avoid unnecessary travel on affected roads during active work.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times, though temporary traffic disruptions should be expected.
Additional project updates will be provided through the township website, social media channels and other communication platforms as work progresses.
