Kraft Mac & Cheese gets noodly with first jump into ramen aisle
Kraft Mac & Cheese is entering the ramen aisle with a new line of Cheesy Ramen, marking the nearly 90-year-old brand’s first move into a new food category in almost two decades.
Kraft Mac & Cheese Cheesy Ramen will launch in early 2027 in three varieties — Spicy, Chicken and Pork — combining the brand’s familiar cheese flavor with ramen noodles.
The launch comes as Kraft Heinz looks to capitalize on growing interest in ramen, particularly among younger consumers. The company said the U.S. ramen category is valued at $2.7 billion and has grown 9% year over year, while the cheesy ramen segment has doubled over the past three years.
“Consumers are increasingly looking for bold flavors and new ways to enjoy the foods they love, and we’re seeing growing demand for cheesy ramen in the U.S.,” said Nicolas Henault, Vice President of Marketing for Kraft Mac & Cheese. “As a brand that has been delivering cheesy comfort for nearly 90 years, we saw a natural opportunity to bring our cheese expertise to ramen and give consumers a uniquely Kraft Mac & Cheese take on a format they’re already embracing.”
The company said the new products were inspired in part by consumers who already add cheese to ramen to create a creamier flavor and balance the heat of spicy varieties.
The Spicy variety combines the Kraft Mac & Cheese flavor with added heat, while the Chicken version pairs cheese with the flavor of chicken ramen. The Pork variety combines the brand’s cheese flavor with notes of pork ramen.
Kraft Heinz said the Cheesy Ramen products contain no artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes.
The launch represents the first time in nearly 20 years that Kraft Mac & Cheese has entered a new food category. It follows the company’s earlier introduction of Kraft Mac & Cheese PowerMac.
Kraft Heinz said the expansion is part of its effort to bring established brands into growing food categories and is supported by a broader $700 million investment aimed at revitalizing its brands and accelerating growth.
Kraft Mac & Cheese Cheesy Ramen is expected to become available in early 2027. The company said it will also offer fans opportunities through its social media channels to get an early taste before the nationwide launch.
