All-way stop coming to Sussex County intersection

WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – There will be a change to a Sussex County intersection this month.

The intersection at County Route 650 (Deckertown Road) and County Route 519 (Colesville Lusscroft Road) in Wantage Township is set to become an all-way stop intersection on or about the week of July 15.

The all-way stop is being implemented as a result of an engineering study conducted by the Sussex County Division of Engineering. The implementation was authorized by the Sussex County Board of County Commissioners at its May 22, 2024 meeting.

The work will include installation of new signage, and enhancement of existing signage along all 4 legs of the intersection, and application of new pavement markings at and in advance of the Intersection. Work will be conducted under single lane closures.

Completion of the work is tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions and/or other unforeseen circumstances, officials said.

Variable Message Boards will be used in advance of the intersection to notify motorists of the new traffic pattern.

The work will be completed by the Sussex County Office of Bridge and Traffic Safety.
