Budd Lake woman charged after alleged assault on EMT during medical call

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Budd Lake woman was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly assaulting a member of an emergency medical services crew during a medical call in Mount Olive Township, police said.

Police said officers responded Dec. 30 to a residence after being requested by members of the Budd Lake First Aid Squad, who were assisting a patient. Emergency medical personnel reported that a family member at the scene became irate and aggressive, preventing them from providing care.

An investigation determined that a resident, identified as Linda J. Lemos, 42, of Budd Lake, physically assaulted a member of the EMS crew, police said.

Lemos was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where she was charged with aggravated assault. She was released pending a court appearance.

Police said the EMS member was not injured in the incident.
