Milestone Award recognizes Dr. Caldwell's service to the New Brunswick Board of Education and the state's educational community
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Centenary University President Dale Caldwell, Ed.D., was recently recognized with a Milestone Award by the New Jersey School Boards Association for his service to the state’s education community.
A longtime resident of New Brunswick, Caldwell retired from the New Brunswick Board of Education after serving for 25 years, including as board president.
During his tenure on the board, he was named New Jersey School Board Member of the Year by the association. A former K-12 administrator, Caldwell also advanced the state’s educational goals as former president of the board of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey.
Caldwell became president of Centenary University on July 1, 2023. Since then, he has leveraged his experience to expand access to higher education for first-generation college students, working adults, community college students and vocational students.
Under his leadership, Centenary has increased student scholarship support and introduced academic programs and community partnerships designed to improve career outcomes for traditional college-age students, nontraditional learners and members of the local business community.
