
County College of Morris celebrates Class of 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – County College of Morris (CCM) hosted a spirited Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, November 16, as alumni, family, and fans gathered to honor the college’s most influential Titans.
The event celebrated the accomplishments of standout student-athletes, coaches, and community figures who have left an indelible mark on CCM’s rich athletic history.
Emceed by Jack Sullivan, Director of Athletics, the event marked the induction of the Class of 2024, the third cohort since the Hall of Fame’s establishment in 2019. The honorees represented a legacy of excellence in athletics, from record-breaking athletes to dedicated coaches and contributors who have shaped the college’s vibrant sports culture.
This year’s inductees include Joe McEwing ’91, a former MLB star who played for the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets, and Katlyn Lloyd ’19, a two-time NJCAA All-American and CCM’s all-time record holder in multiple softball categories. Other notable inductees include:
- Nick Axleson ’19, golf: A Team Captain and All-American, Nick earned a full scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he excelled as a top player.
- Mary Mastriani ’17, softball: Mary’s record of 43 career wins earned her the title of Region 19 Pitcher of the Year.
- John Udell ’75, skiing: An NJCAA First Team All-American, John was a top collegiate skier and earned recognition on the Eastern Inter-Collegiate Ski Association All-East Team.
- Kevin Wise ’91, basketball: A First Team All-American, Kevin set multiple CCM records and helped lead his team to the Region XIX Championship and a National Div II Junior College Tournament appearance.
- Rich Wojtasiak ’76, ice hockey: A standout player, Rich earned NJCAA All-America honors and helped put CCM’s ice hockey program on the map.
Additionally, the ceremony honored CCM coaches Dennis Morgan (baseball), Lee Seras (baseball), and Greg Wardlow (softball), alongside former Vice President of Student Development & Enrollment Management Dr. Bette Simmons, who dedicated 42 years of service to enhancing student experiences at CCM. The 1991 men’s basketball team and the 2019 softball team were also recognized for their exceptional achievements.
The prestigious Contribution Award was presented posthumously to Jack Gallagher, whose impact on the college community continues to be remembered.
