Daytime single-lane, flagger-controlled traffic possible at New Hope-Lambertville Bridge Jan. 19-23

LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Drivers may encounter alternating, flagger-controlled traffic in a single lane on the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge during daytime hours next week as crews work on the bridge’s lighting systems.

Flaggers may control alternating travel in one lane between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. from Monday, Jan. 19, through Friday, Jan. 23, officials said. The restrictions are planned to allow work crews to troubleshoot the bridge’s architectural and roadway-deck lighting.

The commission urged motorists to be prepared to stop, follow flagger instructions and use caution when crossing the bridge while work is underway.

Officials said the schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies or other factors.
