Daytime traffic flagging possible at Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Bridge through Feb. 13

FRENCHTOWN BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) – Motorists crossing the Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Toll-Supported Bridge may continue to encounter daytime traffic delays this week as crews complete final work on a long-running rehabilitation project, officials said.

Flagger-controlled alternating single-lane traffic is possible between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 13. The traffic control operations began earlier in the week and are being implemented on an as-needed basis to address remaining tasks associated with the nearly completed bridge rehabilitation.

Officials said the temporary restrictions are necessary to safely accommodate work crews while allowing traffic to continue crossing the bridge.

The commission overseeing the bridge urged motorists to reduce speeds, be prepared to stop, and follow directions from flaggers whenever traffic controls are in place.

The schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies, or other unforeseen factors.
