Emergency crews rescue person with arm trapped beneath vehicle in Hunterdon County
READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Emergency responders in Readington Township rescued a person Sunday afternoon after the individual’s arm became trapped beneath a vehicle in Readington Township, authorities said.
Whitehouse Rescue Squad and Whitehouse Fire Company personnel responded to the incident along with officers from the Readington Township Police Department.
Responding crews arrived to find police officers assisting the patient in a backyard area, according to emergency officials.
Rescue personnel maneuvered hydraulic rescue equipment through a cluttered area to reach the trapped individual while technicians stabilized the vehicle.
Authorities said hydraulic spreaders were used to lift the vehicle enough to free the patient’s arm. The rescue was completed less than four minutes after emergency crews arrived on scene.
The patient was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, officials said.
Emergency responders noted the rescue vehicle involved in the operation is equipped with both advanced rescue tools and patient transport capabilities, allowing crews to perform technical rescues while providing immediate medical care.
