Erratic driver complaint leads to DUI arrest in Independence Township

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Great Meadows man faces a driving under the influence charge after he was allegedly driving erratically.

On May 13, township officers responded to the area of Route 46 and Asbury Road for a report of an erratic driver called in by a concerned citizen, police said.

The vehicle was located in the area of Johnson Road and the driver, Larry Detombeur, 65, was found to be disoriented, police said.

Officers administered a series of field sobriety tests and determined that Detombeur was under the influence. He was arrested and charged. He was released to a responsible person, police said.
