GOP U.S. Senate candidate Serrano Glassner condemns proposed immigration deal in the Senate

MENDHAM, NJ (Morris County) — Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner, the frontrunner for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in New Jersey, Monday released the following statement in response to the unveiling of the Senate’s backroom border deal:

“The immigration deal in the U.S. Senate is an outrageous proposal that should be summarily rejected. This bill codifies the Biden Administration’s open borders policy that is contributing to increases in drug trafficking, rising crime, and straining local resources.”

“This bill is nothing more than an election year stunt by Democrats who feign concern about our open border while acknowledging that, under this legislation, “the border never closes.”

“Allowing 5,000 illegal crossings per day – or 1.85 million per year – creates a superhighway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. Obama’s border chief defined 1,000 illegal crossings per day as a crisis. Today’s Democrats are moving the goalposts so they can pretend they are being tough on the border while they continue the open borders policies that created the worst border crisis in American history.”
