Great Gorge reopens for 2026 season, offering golf, adventure park in Sussex County
VERNON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — The Great Gorge will reopen for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 2, welcoming visitors back to its golf courses, aerial adventure park and dining options in Vernon Township.
The North Jersey destination features the Great Gorge Golf Club, 1Club and the TreEscape Aerial Adventure Park, drawing golfers and outdoor enthusiasts for a range of activities across the property.
The Great Gorge Golf Club includes a 27-hole championship course designed by George Fazio, with three distinct layouts — Rail, Lake and Quarry — known for their scenic views and challenging play.
The property also offers 1Club, described as New Jersey’s first Park Golf course, which blends traditional golf with shorter play times and a more relaxed, social atmosphere.
TreEscape Aerial Adventure Park provides zip lines and ropes courses set in a forest canopy above historic rock quarries. The park includes options for beginners and children, as well as more advanced climbing and zip line experiences.
Hef’s Hut Bar & Grill serves as the site’s dining venue, offering views of the Vernon Valley and space for events ranging from casual meals to private gatherings.
“We’re thrilled to welcome guests back for another great season of golf and adventure,” said David Killin, General Manager of The Great Gorge. “Whether on the greens or in the trees, or over dinner and drinks at Hef’s Hut, the Great Gorge is a destination that gives people ample reasons to get outside, stay awhile, and make great memories.”
To mark the opening, 1Club and TreEscape are offering limited-time promotions, including discounted family and group packages and reduced pricing on aerial park experiences.
More information on reservations, pricing and hours is available on The Great Gorge’s website.
