Heath Village Retirement Community to host Oral Health for Seniors seminar on Feb. 15

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Heath Village Retirement Community is hosting an in-person Oral Health for Seniors seminar on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m.

The program features Dr. Keith Libou, Chief Clinical Officer of Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut. Dr. Libou will discuss the top five oral health conditions that frequently impact seniors including: untreated tooth decay; gum disease; tooth loss; oral cancer; and chronic disease.

Dr. Keith Libou is licensed to practice dentistry in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. He was instrumental in advocating for dentists to be allowed to perform HbA1C blood tests to help identify undiagnosed diabetic and prediabetic patients who have risk factors for diabetes.

Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut now cover the HbA1c test for all members. At Delta Dental, Dr. Libou oversees the Professional Relations Department, provider networks, claims processing policies, as well as works with the dental consultants.

Dr. Libou received his B.S. in biology at the State University of New York at Binghamton and he later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he earned his D.M.D.
