Maifest returns to Hackettstown this Saturday with German-inspired festivities

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) — Hackettstown will celebrate the arrival of spring with its annual Maifest on Saturday, May 10.

Organized by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID), the event will feature traditional German entertainment, food, contests, and activities hosted by local businesses throughout the downtown area.

Festivities begin at noon and will include live performances by the Oompah band Peter and the Wolf-gang, traditional Maypole dancers, and music from regional acts such as John Garzman, Uncle Stump, and Juke Box Trio.

Events and specials will take place at multiple locations, including Czig Meister Brewing Company, Man Skirt Brewing, Marley’s Gotham Grill, and Grand Avenue Tavern.

Attendees can take part in a range of contests throughout the day, including stein holding, keg rolling, burger and pretzel eating, and German dog costume competitions. Children’s activities include face painting, bracelet making, bubbles, and a prize wheel.

Free parking will be available courtesy of the Hackettstown Parking Authority.

Maifest is designed to support local shops, eateries, and brewers while offering the community a day of cultural celebration and entertainment.
