Hunterdon County Commissioner Kuhl celebrates student achievements at 2025 Polytech Award Ceremony
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioner Jeff Kuhl addressed students and families at the 2025 Polytech Award Ceremony on Wednesday, May 14, celebrating the achievements of high school students pursuing career and technical education through the Hunterdon County Vocational School District.
The event, held at Hunterdon Central High School, recognized students for their dedication and accomplishments across a range of vocational programs.
“Tonight is a celebration of the talent, hard work, and dedication of these students,” said Kuhl. “On behalf of my fellow commissioners, I would like to extend my congratulations to each of you. Your dedication and commitment to your academic studies have paved the way for your future success.”
HCVSD offers a variety of career and technical education programs that allow students to gain specialized skills while still in high school. Many also earn college credits through dual-enrollment agreements with institutions such as Raritan Valley Community College, Rutgers University and Centenary University.
During his remarks, Kuhl highlighted the importance of discovering one’s passion and staying true to it.
“Every person has a unique gift, a talent that makes them stand out. When you pursue a path that aligns with your strengths and values, success follows,” he said. “Don’t let outside influences dictate who you should be — trust yourself and believe in your abilities.”
HCVSD offers full-time programs in fields including Biomedical Science, Computer Science & Applied Engineering, Environmental Sustainability & Engineering and Animal Science.
As students prepare to enter higher education and the workforce, Kuhl encouraged them to move forward with confidence.
“You are the next generation of leaders, innovators and skilled professionals,” Kuhl said. “I wish you all continued success in your journeys ahead. Congratulations once again and thank you for inviting me to be a part of this evening’s ceremony.”
Applications are still open for shared-time programs for rising 11th- and 12th-grade students. For more information, visit www.hcvsd.org.
