Hunterdon County Commissioner Van Doren attends Young Audiences music program at Copper Hill School

TEWKSBURY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun Van Doren attended a musical performance at Copper Hill School on Feb. 10 as part of the Young Audiences Arts for Learning program.

Van Doren joined Tewksbury Township Committeewoman Jean Frankel for the event, which was sponsored by Young Audiences.

“The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education,” said Commissioner Van Doren. “Programs like Young Audiences give students the opportunity to engage directly with music and performance, sparking creativity and fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts.”

Copper Hill School has hosted the Young Audiences program for five consecutive years. The initiative brings professional teaching artists into schools to provide interactive performances and educational experiences that combine entertainment with hands-on learning.

The program is designed to give students opportunities to explore music, culture and creativity in an engaging setting.

Young Audiences Arts for Learning is a national nonprofit organization that focuses on enhancing education through the arts and storytelling. The organization’s programs aim to provide creative experiences for students, support social and emotional development and expand access to arts education.

County commissioners commended Copper Hill School for continuing to host the program and incorporate arts-based learning into the classroom.
