Hunterdon County commissioners honor chamber president Chris Phelan for statewide recognition

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners has honored Christopher J. Phelan, president of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, after he was named the 2025 New Jersey Chamber Alliance Partner by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

Phelan received the statewide award during the NJ Chamber’s Legislative & Business Awards Reception on Oct. 22, an event that recognizes individuals who strengthen and support New Jersey’s business community.

To mark the achievement, the Board of Commissioners adopted an official proclamation at a recent meeting celebrating Phelan’s leadership, advocacy and contributions to economic development in Hunterdon County and across the state. The proclamation was presented to Phelan during the statewide awards ceremony.

“On behalf of my fellow Commissioners, I would like to congratulate Chris Phelan on this well-deserved recognition,” said Director John E. Lanza. “His dedication to supporting the business community, empowering local leaders, and advancing policies that strengthen economic growth embodies Hunterdon County’s spirit of leadership and collaboration. We are proud to see his efforts acknowledged at the state level and grateful for the effect he continues to make for businesses and residents alike.”

County officials said Phelan’s recognition underscores his “tireless advocacy, visionary leadership, and steadfast efforts” to promote business growth and collaboration throughout the region.

The Board of Commissioners commended Phelan for his contributions to Hunterdon County’s economic vitality and said they look forward to his continued leadership in fostering a thriving business environment.
