Hunterdon County man charged with endangering the welfare of a child
ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – An Alexandria Township man has been charged for allegedly having child sex abuse material, according to a joint statement from the Hunterdon County and Middlesex County prosecutors.
The investigation stemmed from a tip from the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
On Friday, April 12, members of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police Kingwood Barracks, and the Sayreville Police Department executed a court authorized search warrant of 34-year-old Eduardo M. Duran-Carrasco’s residence, authorities said.
Investigators took Duran-Carrasco into custody at his residence without incident and seized computer hard drives and other computer equipment, officials said.
Duran-Carrasco was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for being in possession of child sexual abuse material. Additional charges are pending at the conclusion of the investigation, authorities said.
Duran-Carrasco is being held at the Warren County Correctional Center pending his detention hearing, which is scheduled for April 22. He is being represented by Jada Mayson-Osabu, Esq.
Duran-Carrasco is also pending charges in Middlesex County for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Second-degree crimes may result in penalties including, but not limited to a term of imprisonment between 5 and 10 years and a fine not to exceed $150,000.
